Parking
Warning: our gravel drive is steep and should only be used for AWD-equipped vehicles. Two AWD vehicles can tandem park in driveway.
For non-AWD vehicles, street parking is available. The Dirty Dance Inn is currently the only home residing on Mintwood Court and we own six of the seven wooden parcels further down the road.
You will get stuck if your car does not have all wheel drive and you may incur a $300 fee, if regrading is required.
Do not risk getting stuck on steep driveway. Park at the top of the property and walk down the drive.

Trash Recepticles
Never leave trash outside or in your vehicle. Town regulations require trash to be secured in bear proof bins, which are located at the top of the driveway.
To open bin, simply slide the finger latch, located under the brown circle. to the right.
Don't forget to lock your car doors and remove any garbage.
Never feed the bears!
Failure to secure trash will result in fines.
Exterior Security Cameras
Our property is equipped with externally facing security cameras to help ensure our guests, wildlife, property and original artifacts are protected.
Yes, motion-activated exterior security cameras are in use and are located at all the entry points of the house. There are additional cameras in the off-limits utility closet, but there are absolutely no cameras anywhere inside the house. Once you walk through the door, we cannot see you. The exterior cameras are not intended for monitoring guest activity, but more for ensuring visitors behave and respect our property as well as ensuring that they do not violate the privacy of our guests. Generally we only regularly monitor guests at check-in time to make sure you get inside without issue and that you didn’t bring any unauthorized visitors or additional guests not specified in the reservation.
Check In and Check Out Policy
Self check-in: We will email you a security code within 24 hours of your stay to enter into the keypad.
Late check ins are not a problem. If you run into travel issues and think you may be checking in after 9PM, please send us a message to let us know, this way we aren’t worried about you.
Early check ins, by a couple hours, are sometimes possible. Shoot us a message a few days before your check in to confirm that an early check in is possible, and if so we will make sure your code is activated at an appropriate time. There are no extra charges for this.
Late checkouts however we will not do. All of our orchestration with our cleaners is set up to allow them entry at 11 AM.
Check Our Procedure: Pretty simple stuff… Leave the beds that were slept in unmade so that the cleaners know to launder them. Place all used towels in the hamper in the upstairs bathroom. Wash and put away all dishes. Cleaning out the coffee maker is a nice courtesy too. Please close and latch all windows, close all blinds, and lock the doors. Bring bagged trash to the bear proof boxes located at the top of the driveway. Operate the door by sliding the finger latch, located under the center circle, to the right. Apart from that just lock the front door on the way out by pressing the Schlage button.
Booking, Rates & Cancellation Policies
It is the responsibility of our guests at the time of booking to consider these policies. Please be sure of your dates and travel plans before you book your stay with us. Once we have committed to hold the entire house for you, we will turn subsequent inquiries away. Due to the intimate size of our establishment and being a small family business, any cancellations & refunds greatly affect us. We appreciate your understanding of our policies as explained below.
Reservation Deposit: To ease the check-in process, the full amount of your stay will be charged to your credit card at the time of booking.
No-Shows: Any guest who is a no-show and does not formally cancel their reservation will be charged for the entire stay and will forfeit any and all payments made. These funds may not be applied toward a future stay or used as a credit to reschedule at a later date.
VERY IMPORTANT!
Please DO NOT leave the “Guest” amount at the default number “1”, please put in the exact amount of guests in your party who are staying the night. It is up to the person booking to make sure this step is filled out accurately!
If the number of guests entered during booking, is not accurate, either by accident or otherwise, please contact us before your stay. If we aren’t contacted prior to you arrival about the mistake, you and your party will not be allowed to stay at The Dirty Dance Inn upon arrival. .
Visitor Policy
No additional guests are allowed on property at any time without prior approval. This includes inside the home and the surrounding outdoor property. No sleeping bags, air mattresses or cots can be brought into the home. The entire exterior of the home & property are professionally monitored with live video surveillance 24 hours a day. If you choose to violate the policy by attempting to have more guests than your party is booked for, you will be asked to leave the property immediately and forfeit your stay as well as your payment).
Pet Policy
We love pets, but regret that we are not able to permit pets of any kind, as some guests may be allergic to them. Guests bringing pets into the Dirty Dance Inn will be asked to leave immediately and be charged a minimum $250 fee to return any room to a pet free status.
No Smoking
There is absolutely no smoking allowed inside the house. This includes vaping, cigarettes or any other form of tobacco or marijuana. If there is any evidence of smoke detected in your room or any part of The Dirty Dance Inn, you will be charged a $250 fee.
Damages and Missing Items:
Any damages, stains, missing items, or broken items occurring during the stay will be the full financial responsibility of the booking guest, including anyone in the party of the booking guest. Any special clean-up resulting from damages caused by the guests will be charged to the credit card on file. Charges may need to be applied after guest departure as deemed necessary by the management. Please report all spills and/or damages to management promptly. Our property manager and housekeepers have a detailed comprehensive list of every item in the house. They will arrive shortly after 11:00 AM on your checkout day to assess the property and if anything is missing we will be notified and we will seek prosecution against you to the fullest extent of North Carolina law.
